#142  Lakota Star

The wolf is an elusive creature rarely seen by day in the wild, but commonly heard at night. Wolves have a sophisticated communication system. Multiple vocal tones are used to pass on information from one wolf clan member to another. The buffalo skull is a sacred symbol for many Plains Tribes. The buffalo provided food, shelter, clothing, fuel and warmth. The skull has a symbol of the Lakota Star on it. Native American star quilts are prized possessions created by using this sacred eight sided symbol.
