#168 Buffalo Medicine

The dream catcher is the focal point of this art. Dreams are mystical. They come to us, drifting through the air during our sleep time. Good dreams are allowed to pass through, and the bad dreams are caught up in the web. The sun is a masculine symbol watching over us and providing us with warmth and light. Without the sun nothing would grow, and life as we know it, would cease to exist. The buffalo is a symbol of life, health and power. It fed, clothed and sheltered the people. It is considered one of the most sacred animals of the Plains Tribes.
