#235 All His Splendor

The heartbeat of the drum calls forth ancestors deep inside this young man as he prepares to enter the dance arena. Dancing is considered a religious and cultural practice among all tribes and clans. This beautiful piece of artwork was gifted to Red Lodge Transition Services at the annual Oregon State Correctional Institution Pow Wow

in September 2010, by the Native Brotherhood. Inipi Oyate Ki is a prison based club and spiritual circle founded to teach, share and participate in traditional activities and ceremonial events.
